Citrus Growers Association (CGA)

The Mission of the Citrus Growers Association is to ensure the highest possible production of the best quality citrus and sell at the highest possible price in order to improve the welfare and quality of life for citrus growers in Belize.

Banana Growers Association (BGA)

This association of growers is committed to the development of Belize through responsible production of quality bananas.
The BGA took over management of the Banana Industry from Banana Control Board in 1991.

Cane Farmers Association (CFA)

To uphold the sugar Industry as one of the pillar of the Belize’s economy by responding to changes in the market and new technologies, united as one entity to gain control of production, processing and marketing, and to provide better services to its members and to represent them efficiently and effectively.

Inter American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA)

IICA is the institution of the Inter-American System that provides technical cooperation, innovation and specialized knowledge to contribute to the competitive and sustainable development of agriculture in the Americas and to improve the lives of rural dwellers in the member countries.

The BTIA seeks to develop a robust and professional membership association which promotes, advocates and represents the interests of its members for the benefit and sustainable development of the tourism industry.

Ministry of Agriculture

The Ministry’s mission is for Agriculture to continue as an economic pillar of Belize, ensuring food security, generating income and foreign exchange, creating employment, and conserving natural resources, in order to grow the economy, reduce poverty and empower the local population for sustainable development.

CARDI is the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute and aims to provide various services to farmers in the region:

  • To provide for the research and development needs of the agriculture of the Region as identified in national plans and policies;
  • To provide an appropriate research and development service to the agricultural sector of Member States;
  • To provide and extend the application of new technologies in production, processing, storage and distribution of agricultural products of Member States;
  • To pursue for specified periods long-term research in pertinent areas;
  • To provide for the co-ordination and integration of the research and development efforts of Member States where this is possible and desirable
