FINPYME 2009-2012	IIC	SCOTIABANK	The program is designed to help (SMEs) grow and develop. It was divided into two phase. Phase 1 – Diagnostic of 13 companies Phase 2 – Group and Individual Technical Assistance. . Three companies were selected to carry out comprehensive analyses and compile the finding in “competitiveness Improvement Plan”. One of the implementations of the individual technical assistance has been completed the other two are ongoing. QMPS PROJECT 2009-2012	CENPROMYPE/ TAIWANESE GOVT	Belize Bureau of Standards	To implement a change in the process of entrepreneurial management systems of SME’s in Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama, aimed to improve their competitiveness, based on continuous improvement of their quality and productivity. Specific objectives: Awareness training of SME’s , the public, private organizations, government bodies about the importance and implementation of quality management systems applicable to different sectors Executing quality and productivity improvement projects in SME’s in order to establish a structure that allows for the implementation of new quality and productivity processes, optimizing the organizational development and implementing a strategic planning in the company, as well as teamwork Creating a co-financing fund to support the certification of production processes or goods and services of SME’s.	6 SMEs participated in the QMPS project. Since we were unable to implement ISO, SMEs targeted are working towards certification in the following Quality Management System Programs. 5S Methodology HACCP GMPs Companies are still working consultants to develop plans and implementation.
MARKET ACCESS 2010-2012	COMMONWEALTH SECRETARIAT		To support BELTRADE in its efforts to maximize value creation by building the sustainability and competitiveness of SMEs in the agri-business and light manufacturing sectors, through improved access to profitable and sustainable local and international markets. It comprises three components: Analysis of potential market niches, identification of product/service specification and development of training tools to transfer skills to SMEs. Delivering business development services such as training, advice and counseling to assist SMEs to upgrade their enterprises; advisory support to assist SMEs in attracting the necessary finance to upgrade and access new markets. Delivering and supporting the enhancement of the SME programme by training BELTRAIDE staff and other service providers to manage a market access programme.	Consultant to select companies based on capacity & capabilities. Output to date: Project Plans and Project Team Developed Production Capacities and Resources of SMEs analyzed Analysis of potential market niches Staff trained to manage market access program Technical advice& counseling provided to SMEs Trade Fair ( Buyer & Seller) show in Mexico Strategic Plan developed for BELTRAIDE’s SME support function, annexed with training SMEs assisted.
Inclusive Linkages 2011-203	CENPROMYPE	BELTRAIDE, CENPROMYPE, Ministry of Economy in Guatemala	Inclusive Linkage Project was launched in August 30, 2011 and will implement along border region of Belize and Guatemala. This project has three components: strengthening of the institutional framework of the territories, as well as the organizational structures and dialogue Promotion of economic & business linkages between the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Training in and awareness-raising of the local development concept. 18 more months to complete the project.	MSMEs in Santa Elena, San Ignacio, San Jose Succotz, Benque Veijo Del Carmen, Arenal, Melchor de Mencos, Flores, Peten. Presentation of finding for the baseline study for Tourism Value Chain. Bi-national meeting with Belize and Guatemala to present and discuss the municipality’s role and action plan.
MSME Policy and Strategy November 2011 – April 2012	CARICOM Development Fund (CDF)		Through funding from the CDF, a Consultant was hired to assist in the development of an MSME Policy and Strategy for Belize. MSME Regional Information for Central America 2011-2014	CENPROMYPE, CENTROESTAD		Objective of this project is to establish an information system and methodology to generate data on MSME performance and characteristics in Central American countries.	Process of developing Technical Committee for the project.
ACCESS TO REGIONAL MARKETS 2012-2014	CENPROMYPE, SICA, SPAIN FUND, SIECA, SITCA		Objective is to assist MSMEs in accessing of opportunities within Central American market by providing them with specialized information services, market intelligence, support to access financing, training and technical assistance. Expected results: A knowledge management and information on the Central American market and a modelbeen established to enable MSMEs address the markets’ current demands. Participating MSMEs to increase their share and are taking advantage of the regional market through the improvement of supply and demand (improved competitiveness). MSMEs access to financing has been promoted & facilitated through policy proposals and methodological support tools.	Participating “Consultants” included representatives from: Beltraide Foreign Trade BCCI UB First component of project was training on how to develop Export Business Plans ( January 2012) Pending: Develop Export business plan for SME’s.
SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER 2012	BELTRAIDE, DFC, MIF	UTSA, CEDA, DFC, OAS	Launched SBDC Model in Belize in March 2012. Certificate Training consists of 4 Modular Training Programs over 5 months period 1^st Modular Training Program – 8-10^th May, 2012 2^nd Modular Training Program- 4-5^th July 2012 3^rd Modular Training Program- 7-9^th August 2012 4^th Modular Training Program- 5-6^th 2012 Budget presently being reviewed.	Participants included representatives from: BCCI Financial Institutions Credit Unions ITVET BYBT BBS
ENTREPRE- NEURSHIP PROJECT 2012	GOVERNMENT OF SPAIN	CENPROMYPE	Funding received from Government of Spain to promote entrepreneurship in member countries.
