- The 2010 Population and Housing Census revealed that the population was at 312,698, up from 240,204 in 2000.
- Even with this increase in population, Belize remains one of the least densely populated countries in the Americas.
- Of the country’s total labour force (130,717), 100,537 are employed, with 32.47% of workers in the Belize District (42,443).

• Work Permits
- Travellers must have a valid passport and an onward plane ticket for a 30-day Visitor’s Visa to be issued.
- Citizens from the U.S.A., British Commonwealth (except India), Mexico, CARICOM, Costa Rica, Austria, or nationals of a member state of the European Union do not require a visa; all other countries require a visa.
- Any Belizean Embassy or Consulate can issue a visa at the cost of US$50.00 for single entry valid for 3 months or US$100.00 for multiple entries valid up to twelve months.
